Assistant Nurse Manager Job in Canada for Foreigners

Overview

Elderly Care Ottawa, Ontario: A compassionate and skilled caregiver is needed to assist with daily living activities for an elderly family member in Ottawa, Ontario. The ideal candidate is experienced, patient, and attentive, capable of providing a high level of care in a home setting. This position offers visa sponsorship for qualified international applicants committed to a long-term caregiving role.

Specific Skills
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a facility care setting, with management experience being an asset.
  • Knowledge of gerontological nursing, clinical issues for geriatric residents, infection control, and quality improvement principles.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Responsible For
  • Assist the Wellness Manager in implementing and evaluating quality improvement initiatives in the nursing department.
  • Lead and coordinate best practices and risk management initiatives related to resident care.
  • Provide operational direction to staff and clinical expertise as needed.
  • Manage the utilization of nursing supplies effectively.
  • Facilitate smooth admissions, discharges, and transfers of residents within the facility.
  • Actively participate in resident care conferences and committees, ensuring a person-centered approach.
  • Mentor staff while overseeing the provision of quality resident care.
  • Initiate corrective actions related to occupational health and safety.
  • Collaborate on special projects and assume responsibility for the nursing department in the absence of the Wellness Manager.
  • Be flexible to work on call after hours and weekends as required.
 
Additional Requirements
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Record Check with acceptable results.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends and participate in an on-call rotation.
